Latchezar Pravtchev

Pravtchev was born in Sofia in 1956.

In 1981, he finishes his studies at the academy of music in Sofia with Irena Brambarova. The same year, he wins the International Singing Competition in Sofia, and receives a two years scholarship at La Scala. During that time, he sang several performances in Italy.

In 1983, he made his debut as Nemorino at the National Opera in Sofia.

In 1984, he is hired in Germany, first at the Stadttheater in Braunschweig, then in 1989 at the Staatsoper in Hannover, where he would stay for the entire rest of his career.

In 1988, he wins the singing competition Belvedere in Vienna.

In Germany, he makes guest appearances at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Staatsoper in Hamburg, Nationaltheater in Munich,Stuttgart and Essen.

He further sang in Spain, Italy, Denmark, Sweden and Belgium.

His repertory included: Pinkerton, Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Hoffmann, Zinovij (Lady Macbeth Mtsenskogo uezda), Tambourmajor, Italienischer Sänger, José, Lenskij, Nemorino, Radames, Laca, Ismaele, Turiddu, Rodolfo (Luisa Miller), Gran Sacerdote (Idomeneo), Alfredo, Grigorij, Carlo, Tamino, Macduff, Enzo, Cassio, Rodolfo, Riccardo, Cavaradossi, Ernani, Calaf, Erik, Walther (Tannhäuser) ...
