Donald Grobe

16 December 1929 Ottawa (Illinois) – 1 April 1986 Berlin

Debut as Borsa in Rigoletto in 1952 in Chicago, and comprimario roles would always remain his main repertory, though he occasionally sang main parts (particularly in contemporary operas). A member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 1960; debut at the Met in 1968.
