Donald Grobe

Born Dec. 16th, 1929 in Ottawa (Illinois), died April 1st, 1986 in Berlin. Debut as Borsa in Rigoletto in 1952 in Chicago, and comprimario roles would always remain his main repertory, though he occasionally sang main parts (particularly in contemporary operas). A member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 1960; debut at the Met in 1968.
