A prolific recording artist of the 1910s and 1920s, Hindermyer was in the original cast of the Shannon Four – a male quartet founded by basso Wilfred Glenn on request of the Victor recording company in 1917, originally a "classic" quartet, which Glenn transformed into the legendary Revelers in 1925, creating a completely new quartet style. At that time, however, Hindermyer had long ceased to be part of the group; he had been their second tenor for just one year.
