Paul Razavet

Razavet made his debut in Verviers as Faust on December 22, 1911 with D. Beumer, Bouxmann and Cadio. It was followed by
Il barbiere di Siviglia on January 14, 1912 with D. Beumer, Kistermann, L. Nyssen and Storel. There was another Faust on March 21,
1912 with D. Beumer, Auriol and Bruls.
He was drafted during the first world war.
After the war, Ravazet was hired by the Monnaie in 1918, where he stayed until 1924. There, Ravazet created
Fenton (December 7, 1920), Ange Pitou (La fille de Madame Angot, April 13, 1921), Ferrando (February 8, 1923), Palo
(Francesca da Rimini, November 9, 1923) and Le chevalier Printemps (Songe d'une nuit d'hiver by Auguste de Boeck, December 21, 1923).
Razavet came back to Verviers for the 1920-21 and 1922-23 seasons. He sang on January 22, 1921 in Manon with L. Berelly, L. Richard and
Daman and La traviata on January 4, 1923 with G. Villiers amd Médac.
Ravazet made his debut at the Opéra-Comique on July 3, 1924 as Werther, there he sang
Rodolfo, Turiddu, Gérald, Hoffmann, Julien, Pinkerton, des Grieux (Manon), Canio, Mylio,
Cavaradossi, José and Wilhelm Meister.
He retired in 1932 and settled in Paris teaching singing. Among his students were Gérard Serkoyan and Lucien Ruelland (1911–1999).
He recorded for Pathé.
