Giacomo Lauri-Volpi, Voci parallele

Starting in his forties, Thill had more and more problems with the audience in Paris. He began to concentrate in singing more and more in concerts, as can be seen in his chronology. Thill, in the 1970s, told Guy Dumazert and Carlo Ciabrini that he tried all his life to learn to sing properly and went to all available voice teachers. Singing Guillaume Tell, Tannhäuser and others did not fit his voice.
