Born September 21st, 1943 in Vienna. A boy soprano in the Wiener Sängerknaben choir, he then became a bassoonist; debut as a tenor in 1966 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Primarily a concert and oratorio singer, he appeared in opera at the Salzburg and Aix-en-Provence festivals, at the Wiener Staatsoper, in Glasgow and Amsterdam. His most important parts were Don Ottavio, Idamante and Jacquino. A short career of just about ten years. The recording is from the 1966 young singers competition that started Krenn's career (unfortunately in very poor condition).
