Longobardi studied in Napoli. He probably made his debut in 1896 at the Bellini in Napoli in Parisina by T. Giribaldi.
In 1896, he was already singing outside Italy in Malta.
His Italian career developed: Napoli, Salerno, Foggia, Bologna, ...
In 1899, Longardi sang in Tiflis as Raoul, before singing in Barcelona, Saint Petersburg, and Moscow.
In 1902, he sang again outside Italy in Oviedo, Gijon, and Oporto.
In 1903, he sang in Havanna, Guanajuato, Mexico City (Manrico, Radames, Otello, Alvaro).
Longobardi sang in Madrid (1905), Alexandria (1905), Cairo (1906), Buenos Aires (1906), and Montevideo (1906).
After singing in Marion Delorme in Trani in 1910, he seems to have disappeared after a career of 14 years.
His repertory included: Manrico, Jacopo Foscari, Radames, Sveno (I goti),
Riccardo, Alvaro, Raoul, Pery, Pollione,
Turiddu, Ernani, Vasco de Gama, Samson, Federico (Germania),
Éléazar, Otello, Edgardo, Tannhäuser,
Siegmund, Tristan, Poliuto, Didier (Marion Delorme), ...
The majority of his recordings for Fonotipia remained unpublished.

The voice is very nice, the musicality is laudable, but his top is uneasy and heavily pushed. This makes, strangely,
Otello's
death his best recording, though his voice may seem somewhat lyrical for Otello – but
here, he doesn't need the top notes that he didn't quite possess.
