Arrigo Pola was born on July 5th, 1919 in Finale near Modena. He studied with Mercedes Accianti in Modena, where he made his debut in 1945 as Cavaradossi. In 1947, he sang at La Scala as Faust with Tebaldi and Siepi. In 1951, he sang with Callas in Parma in Traviata. He toured a lot: in 1946/47 Brussels (Manon Lescaut); in 1950 Japan, Philippines, and Hongkong; from 1957 to 1965, he was the director of the Fujiwara Opera Company. After 1965, he taught singing. He died in Modena on November 3rd, 1999.
