The Polish tenor Władysław Floriański was born on May 4th, 1854 in Lemberg/Lviv, and died at the same place on April 12th, 1911. Władysław Floriański studied in his home town, making his debut there in 1884 in Der Bettelstudent by Millöcker. His first operatic appearance was in Żeleński's Konrad Wallenrod two years later. He was so successful that he was invited to Prague for a guest performance, and he remained there. He sang also in Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna and Warsaw. He was acclaimed, too, as a concert singer. His son Antoni was a concert singer under the family name Kohmann.
