Gustaf Rödin

He studied with Gillis Bratt in Stockholm after appearing first as ballet dancer.

He made his debut in 1922 in Stockholm and stayed there until 1925.

He was first hired by the Städtische Oper Berlin (1926–30) and then moved to the Berliner Staatsoper (1931–44). In Germany, his first name was written Gustav.

At the Berlin Staatsoper, on November 26th, 1938 he took part in the world premiere of Peer Gynt and on January 1st, 1939, he sang in the world premiere of Die Bürger von Calais by Wagner-Régeny. In 1928, he appeared for the first time at the festival in Bayreuth. He appeared there until 1944 mostly in small parts.

With the Berlin Staatsoper, he went on tour to Paris and Rome. He returned to Sweden in 1945 and worked as an archivist for the Swedish railway.
