Petko Marinov

In RA format
A prize winner at a singing competition in Sofia in 1972, Petko Marinov was then associated with the Sofia opera
theater; Tamino was a signature role of his, but he also sang Foresto for instance. Like so many Bulgarian singers, he appeared as a
guest in Belgrade (Alfredo, 1981). It would seem that he sang at least as much in concert as in opera, both lieder and sacred music. The
last reference that I find to him as a singer is from 1992. He taught voice at the Academy of Music in Sofia; one of his students was
Kamen Chanev.
