Hugo Malmsten
Malmsten started his career in 1924 in provincial theaters (Narva, Pärnu, Viljandi, later at the Workers' Theater in Tallinn), where he was drama actor (his main profession in those years), operetta tenor and stage director. Occasionally, he would also sing opera (Joseph in Méhul's opera, Alfredo). From 1944 to 1971, he was at the Tallinn opera theater, now as an operetta singer only, first still a tenor, from the 1950s a baritone, mostly in small roles. |
