Eugène Regnier in La bohème
He had his voice trained at the conservatory in his native Verviers, where he also made his debut
as Werther in 1938. From 1940 to 1953, he was a member of La Monnaie in Brussels (he sang there until 1957 as a guest). He
appeared also at French theaters (notably at the Opéra-Comique in 1947, as Pinkerton), in Liège, Gent, Verviers,
Luxembourg, and in the Netherlands.
At La Monnaie, he sang Nicias (Thaïs), Vladimir Igorevich, Rodolfo, Canio, Italienischer Sänger, Sylvain (Les
dragons de Villars), Gounod's Faust, Julien, Gontran (Les mousquetaires au couvent), Lancelot (La poupée
by Audran), Camille de Rosillon, Don José, Alphonse (La muette de Portici), Almaviva, Hoffmann, Pinkerton, Jozsi
(Zigeunerliebe by Lehár), Massenet's des Grieux, Wilhelm Meister, Duca, Cavaradossi, Werther, Miguel de la Cruz
(Un drame sous Philippe II by Dupuis), Zéphoris (Si j'étais roi), Georges Brown, Nadir, Camille
