Born Carlo Giusti in Lucca (Tuscany), he started his career in Italy – but for the most part, it took place in Argentina, where he was a comprimario fixture at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires until as late as 1967. Roles he sang included the Fool in Wozzeck, the Simpleton, Goro, Spoletta or Monostatos. He was also active on the concert podium.
