Giuseppe Sala
Presumably born in 1870, he was one of Italy's foremost comprimari in the early 20th century, singing at important theaters like La Scala, Teatro Dal Verme or Teatro Costanzi. His repertory ranged from very small parts to the Fisherman in Guillaume Tell, Lorenzo in Fra Diavolo, Cassio or Macduff. Other than what Kutsch & Riemens fancy, he made a lot of solo recordings (among them even A te, o cara and Cuius animam), as well as even more ensemble recordings, as well. |
