Virgilio Tavini
Argentinean comprimario, long-term member of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, where he sang from 1946 to 1976 – a
host of mostly tiny roles like the Messenger in Trovatore, the Lover in Tabarro, the First Prisoner in Fidelio, one of
the Knights in Lohengrin, or Parpignol, though he got also more prominent parts to sing: Monostatos, Spoletta, Beppe, Vašek; and
he was regularly cast as Pong, Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Goro and the Simpleton. His only main roles were Almaviva (three
performances in 1952, one in 1954) and Nemorino (one performance in 1954).
