Richard Menšík

5 November 1882 Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště – 6 April 1930 Prague

After secondary school, he ran away from home and joined Terezie Pokorná's well-known touring opera-and-drama troupe. For a short time in 1904, he was a chorister at the National Theater in Prague, then he became a soloist again in Plzeň from 1905 to 1907, with particular success in operetta.

He also appeared with the Lacin Company (even in Sarajevo and Bucharest); later on, he was at the National Theater in Brno and at the small Vinohrady Theater in Prague. In 1922 and 1923, he was back to the Prague National Theater as a guest in secondary roles on two evenings.
