Allen Cathcart
After studies in Los Angeles and New York City, Cathcart started his career as a baritone at the Metropolitan Opera Studio in 1961 (debut role: Guglielmo in Così fan tutte). He was a member of the Saarbrücken theater 1971–74, and of the Frankfurt opera after that, with particular success with the local audience. He also sang in Paris (both at the Opéra and the Opéra-Comique), Kansas City, San Francisco or Seattle. Roles: Siegmund, Siegfried, Stolzing, Bacchus, Kaiser, Florestan, German, Grigorij, Laca, Jeník, Tambourmajor, Peter Grimes, Gabriele Adorno, Cavaradossi, Hoffmann, Don José...
