Forrest Lamont
I would like to thank Vladimir Efimenko for the recording.
Born in Canada, Lamont grew up in Chicopee (Massachusetts), where he sang in a church choir already as
a child. After vocal studies in France, Germany and Italy, he made his debut in Rome in May 1914. The same year, he also
sang in Moscow, Budapest and Vienna. From 1917 to 1930, he was at the Chicago Civic Opera; in his later years, even after
retiring from the Chicago opera, he sang regularly at the summer festival at the Cincinnati Zoo.
