A pupil of Eugene Conley, Price began his career in 1970, spending the next few years with
minor operatic companies in the New York area. From 1975, he was a leading tenor at the New York City Opera. In 1983, he went to
Europe, where he sang in Mainz for two and in Linz for another three years. His 1988 departure from Linz already seems to have been
the end of his career.
He was a lyrical tenor, singing roles like Camille de Rosillon, Paris, Tamino, Almaviva, Gennaro (Lucrezia Borgia) or Massenet's des
Grieux.
From 1993 to 2018, he was a university professor of voice and opera in Malibu.
