Herbert Thorpe
Thorpe, who also used the pseudonym "Arthur Wilson", was a frequent guest on various British radio stations (mainly the BBC, of
course) from the mid-1920s to the early 1940s; he sang a wide repertory – opera, operetta, oratorio, ballads. I didn't find
any proof for off-air activities by Thorpe, so I suppose he was exclusively a radio tenor, but cannot swear it. In his earlier
years, he often sang together with baritone Harry Brindle; in his later years, with basso Foster Richardson (they also recorded
together).
I wish to thank Anton Bieber for the recordings and label scans.
