Like with so many French tenors, Sirera's biography is largely obscure. He studied voice in Marseille with Pierre Mercadel, a former operetta baritone.

He also appeared at the Marseille Opéra:
15/17/19/23 January 1982, in Lakmé as Gérald, with Chantal Bastide, George Papas, Jacques Noël, Bruno Constantini, Christiane Issartel, Patrica Baldi, Janine Gras, Michèle Albert, and Reynald Giovaninetti conducting
5/7/10 February 1988, in the title role of Werther, with Fiorenza Cossotto, Danyelle Chlostawa, René Massis, Jean Brun, Bruno Constantini, Pierre le Hémonet, and Reynald Giovaninetti conducting
27/28/29/30/31 December 1990, in Chanson gitane (by Maurice Yvain), with Maguy Gautier, Françoise Petro, Anne Marie Castronovo, Jacques Duparc, Hubert Meens, Alexandra Papadjakou, Alain Vernhes, and with John Burdekin conducting
7/9/12/13/17 March 1991, in Thaïs as Nicias (sharing with Marc Laho), with Kathleen Cassello/Fabienne Chanoyan, José van Dam/Patrick Meroni, Danyelle Chlostawa, Rachel Esso, Alice Chamirian, Daniel Ottevaere, and with Michelangelo Veltri conducting

In Tours, he was Faust on 14 and 16 October 1983, with Martine Surais, Frédéric Vassar, René Massis, André Battedou, Christine Cadol, Patrick Meroni, and with Paul Ethuin conducting.

Very regularly, he sang at the Vauvert open air festival: in 1976, 1979, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1994, 1996 and 1998.

He taught voice at the Conservatoire Italien in Paris.

He had a very long career, well into the 21st century; in 2014 for instance, he gave a concert in Meyrueis (north of Montpellier). He was the father of baritone Gérard Théruel.
