Voli studied voice first in his native Cannes, then at the conservatory of Nice with
Édouard Rouard (1950–52), and finally at the Conservatoire National in Paris, from which he graduated in 1956.
In 1957, he made his debut at the Paris Opéra, where he was to stay for his entire career, making guest appearances
at all important French theaters (including the Opéra-Comique), at La Monnaie in Brussels, in Amsterdam, Liège,
Geneva, Montreal...
His most important roles were Alfredo, Almaviva, Thespis (Platée by Rameau), Vincent (in Mireille), Gérald
and Pelléas.
