Andreas Dippel
I wish to thank Tom Silverbörg for the recordings. His father was an industrialist. After vocal studies in Kassel, Berlin, Milano and Vienna, he was first at the Bremen theater from 1887 to 1892; in 1889, he sang small parts at the Bayreuth Festival, and in the 1890/91 season, he made his Met debut as a guest. 1892/93 in Wrocław/Breslau, 1893–98 at the Vienna Hofoper. Several guest appearances at Covent Garden from 1897 to 1900. In 1898, he was hired by the Met, where he spent the rest of his career and was also involved in the theater management from 1900 to 1910. 1910–13, he was the director of the Philadelphia-Chicago Grand Opera Company, then he founded his own company, which toured all of North America.
