Carlo Bino

Carlo Bino was born in Italy and a pupil of Tito Schipa in Lecce; he would later compile a huge collection of Schipa recordings and memorabilia, including some of his stage costumes. Bino spent most of his life in the Netherlands, as a singer, a voice teacher (he married one of his pupils, mezzosoprano Viktoria Spans) and, not least, from 1970 to 1985 as the owner of a shop in Utrecht, called "Le Bon Ton" and selling both new and second-hand operatic records.
