Lamberto Furlan
He was chosen personally by the clueless Bonynge for La traviata in Genova in 1983 and of course got booed together with terrible Joan
Sutherland. (Bonynge was so appalled that he left together with his great wife.)
In his biography (from the program brochure of a concert organized by the Accademia Veneta in 2007), they proudly mention Traviata
hoping that nobody remembers... Daniele Godor
In RA format
After Mr. Furlan, a Bonynge import, is protested, Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge leave.
It is announced that the performance will resume with Slavka Taskova Paoletti as Violetta and
Aldo Pizzolo as conductor. Mr. Furlan stays unperturbed, to the dismay of the audience. The opera
continues to the end with Licinio Montefusco as Germont.
