Silvano Isalberti sings | Carmen: Alto là
|
In RA format
His earliest traced performances took place in 1902 in Budapest (Don José, Turiddu and Canio) and Trieste. From 1905, he
was very successful in the Netherlands, where he appeared with various companies until 1913, in Amsterdam and Den Haag.
He toured also, with mixed results, Germany, at least between 1906 and 1908 (Barmen, Elberfeld, Mannheim, Köln, Leipzig,
Theater des Westens in Berlin). In 1909, he sang at La Scala (Giasone in Cherubini's Medea), but here, too, his success
was limited. In 1910, he was a guest at the Vienna Volksoper.
In 1919, he returned to Amsterdam as Riccardo, but was now unsuccessful even there. He remained in Belgium and the Netherlands,
singing with minor opera troupes, in music halls and cinemas. He eventually settled in Brussels and taught voice.
