Nunzio Todisco
Originally a steward on a passenger ship, Todisco started to sing self-taught, and eventually took lessons in Naples with
soprano Maria Grazia Marchini. In 1971, he won the Spoleto singing competition, and made his debut in that town as Canio.
His career unfolded primarily in Italy: at the San Carlo in Naples, the Arena di Verona, the Rome Opera, the Terme di
Caracalla, in Trieste, Cagliari, Messina, and from 1981, several times at La Scala.
Abroad, he sang in San Francisco (1978), Barcelona (1978), and at the Met (4 performances as Cavaradossi in April 1991).

He sang into the early 2000s, then he taught singing. He was married to soprano Giovanna Casolla.
