In Spain, Brunet sang into the mid-1940s, but only occasionally in opera in his later years, it would seem (Otello at the Liceu, 26 March 1942, with María Greus, cond. José Sabater), and primarily in concert: Beethoven's Ninth (Liceu, 16 March 1940), and several aria and song recitals – with violinist Abel Mus: Barcelona, Palacio de la Música, 3 March 1942; together with soprano Enriqueta Angelgrán: Burgos, 30 January and 2 February 1944; Cadiz, summer 1944; Ceuta, 2 December 1944.
