After graduation from the Chajkovskij Conservatory in Moscow in 1978, he sang in Saratov, Sverdlovsk (Ekaterinburg),
Novosibirsk, Krasnojarsk, Kazan, Ufa, Perm, and at the Mariinskij. Perm seems to have been the center of his activity.
Between 1989 and 2006 (i.e. as soon as the political situation allowed him to), he made guest appearances abroad: Germany, Austria,
Switzerland, Norway, Hungary, USA. He eventually settled in the Autonomous Russian Republic of Komi north-west of the Ural, where
he also died.
His repertory included Radames, Otello, Alfredo, Turiddu, Canio, Riccardo, José, Cavaradossi, German, ...
