Born on the 23rd of July, 1946 in the city of Kotelnich (Kirov region).
Acclaimed Artist of the Russian Federation (1989).
Worked as a sports teacher, as a head of a choir of the regional Art House, and served in the army in the Ensemble of Singing and
Dance of the Ural Military District.
Graduated from the Ural State Conservatory in 1973 (class of the famous former singer Jan Vutiras).
Was a soloist of Perm Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet (1973–1981, 1990–1997 and from 1999 onwards). Also worked in
Krasnojarsk (1981–1990) and Saratov (1997–1999). Went on tours abroad. Vast concert repertoire. Collaborated with
the Folk Orchestra of V. Salin, and with the concert society "Benefis Musical Theater" of A. Makarov.
Taught in the vocal faculty of the Perm State Academy of Arts and Culture.
His best roles were: Lohengrin, Manrico, Radames, Edgardo, Nadir, José, Pinkerton, Vodemon, Prince.
A strong voice of a wide diapason enabled Samojlov to perform roles of both lyric and dramatic nature. A great capacity for work,
sociability and devotion to the theater made him always busy. His behavior on stage was distinguished by dedication, an accurate
portraying of each and every character.
