Nikolaj Nikolaevich Sereda

1890–1948
Sereda was born on 4 (16) May, 1890 in Novi Sanzhary in the Poltava region.

From 1922 to 1925, Sereda studied at the Moscow conservatory with Ettore Gandolfi. In 1928, he went for further studies to Germany.

1926–33, Sereda was a soloist at the Kharkiv Opera. 1933–35, he was at the Sverdlovsk Opera. From 1935 until his death, he was a soloist at the Kirov/Mariinskij.

He died on 16 February 1948 in Leningrad.

His repertory included: Lenskij, Vladimir Dubrovskij, Levko, Alfredo, Duca, Faust, Werther, Lohengrin, Salavat (Emelyan Pugachjov by Marian Koval), ...
