Edwardsen studied with Poul Bang in Copenhagen (1915–19).
He made his debut at the Oslo Opéra comique in 1919.
In 1927, he made his debut at the Royal Opera in Stockholm as José.
He sang at the: Opéra comique Oslo (1919–21), Mayol Theater Oslo (1922–24), Göteborg Stora
(1925–27), Stockholm Royal Opera (1927–50), Reykjavik Icelandic Opera (1951–55), Helsinki FNO (1953/54),
Stockholm Riksteater (1960/61), ...
He was also a stage director/producer at the Stockholm Royal Opera and the Göteborg Stora.
His repertory included Riccardo, Cavaradossi, Canio, Radames, Alfredo, Turiddu, Florestan, des Grieux (Manon Lescaut), Tamino,
Ubma (Arnljot by Peterson-Berger), Pedrillo, Monostatos, Gösta Berling (I cavalieri di Ekebù by Zandonai), Mime,
Loge, Paris, Paganini, ...
He recorded for Columbia (Oslo), and HMV (including Gösta Berling's aria).
