Paul Robeson

Among all the transposed "secret tenor dreams", this one must be the most unusual, and the funniest. Robeson is singing the – in Hungary – immensely popular tenor aria from Ferenc Erkel's wonderful opera "Bánk bán" – Hungary's national opera, and the aria is Hungary's secret national anthem. Robeson, of course, is singing it in a bizarre key that must be about an octave down, but – in Hungarian!
