Celso Albelo sings I puritani: Credeasi, misera

Albelo studied voice in his home town and in Madrid, and finally at the Accademia di Busseto with Carlo Bergonzi. Busseto was also where he made his 2006 debut as Duca di Mantova at the Verdi Festival.

Very quickly, he made an excellent career. He sang at almost every important Italian theater (La Scala, La Fenice, Trieste, Bologna, Terme di Caracalla, Rossini Festival in Pesaro, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, Teatro Bellini in Catania), in Madrid (Teatro Real), Barcelona (Liceu), Tokyo, Munich, Hamburg, Zürich (a whole lot), at the Paris Opéra, Covent Garden, the Vienna Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Metropolitan Opera New York, the Savonlinna and Baden-Baden festivals.

He focused his repertory on belcanto: Elvino, Gualtiero (Il pirata), Tebaldo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Arturo (I puritani), Percy (Anna Bolena), Roberto Devereux, Edgardo, Tonio, Fernand, Nemorino, Ernesto, Gennaro, Ruodi, Arnold; but he also sang Don Ottavio, Ferrando, Léopold, Roméo, Alfredo, Riccardo, Werther, des Grieux (Manon), Rodolfo or Pinkerton.
