Nothing is known about the whereabouts and dates of birth and death of Antonio Saludas, but in any case, he studied with Llorenç
Parés in Barcelona. His earliest traceable performance was at the Gran Teatre del Liceu as Fernand in La favorite, on 10
January 1903.
He sang further also at the Teatre Nuevo Retiro (L'Africaine, 1906), in Girona, at both the Teatro Pizarro and the Teatro Principal
in Valencia, in Alicante, Almería or Alcoy. He also returned a few times to the Liceu (until 1922).
He then moved on to Italy, where he sang for instance in Modena at both the Teatro Storchi (1909/10) and the Comunale (1911). In 1911, he was
in South America, where he was Folco in the world premiere of Isabeau at the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires; in Rio de Janeiro, he
repeated his Folco and also appeared as Rinaldo in Mascagni's Amica.
Back in Italy, he appeared at the San Carlo in Naples (Folco, 1913), at both the Reinach and the Regio in Parma (1915 and 1916, respectively),
in Rieti, Reggio Emilia or a whole lot at the Politeama in Genova from 1918 to 1920. On 6 March 1923, he participated in the world premiere of
Joaquín Turina's opera Jardin de Oriente at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
His repertory included two Riccardos (Maria di Rohan and Un ballo in maschera, Manrico, Radames, Enzo Grimaldo, Vasco da Gama,
Turiddu, Canio, Rodolfo, Cavaradossi, Pinkerton, Rimuel (La nave rossa by Armando Seppilli), Nicias, Lohengrin or Erik.
He recorded at least two Edison cylinders that seem to be most elusive.
